Construction Update

Despite sustained periods of heavy rainfall and associated issues with saturated ground the Contractor has largely kept pace with the construction programme through the later weeks of March and early weeks of April.

Significant progress has been made around the new SUDs basin with pond liners installed and soil backfilling completed to the basin area and earthworks profiles.

The period has seen a huge push on footpath construction works with all footpaths surfaced to at least binder level stie wide excluding the final 350m to tie into Avant Homes footpath.

Public Utilities

All utility diversions/protection measures are now fully completed site wide.

North Section

Northern SUDS basin works.

• Road crossing works over My Dub Road took place under 2 way lights during the school Easter Break. TTM was established on Tuesday 2nd April and was removed by Thursday 11th April on completion of works and subsequent reinstatement.
• An uncharted concrete surrounded service was encountered running through the roundabout splitter island. The service did not clash with the proposed pipework and was worked around.
• Footpaths have been constructed to binder level through the North Section, WC install planned for WB 22nd April.
• Bare root planting in section substantially completed.
• PROW splitter island installed, surfaced to binder level and bollard NAL sockets completed.
• Street Lighting installations commenced 18th March 2024, works due for completion next week in this section.
• Signage Works commenced 18th March 2024 and works are now completed except for TS028 (20Mph Speed Sign)

Central Section

• Footpath surfacing fully completed in this section.
• PROW splitter island installed, surfaced to binder and bollard NAL units completed.
• SUDs basin impermeable liner and geotextile protection fleece installed and welded WB 2nd April.
• SUDs basin soil reinstatement completed WB 15th April
• All S/L columns installed and cabled in this section.
• All signage installed in this section.
• Soil reinstatements to verges and batters substantially completed.
• Bare root planting substantially completed.

South Section

• Footpath civils construction nearing completion to Avant homes tie in
• Roundabout HRA surfacing ongoing.
• All traffic signs installed.
• Bare root planting substantially completed.
• Drainage CCTV works completed in this section in period.

Off Site Signage Works

All off site road traffic signs installed during school Easter Holiday period under TTM.

Programme

Works programmed for April/May 24

All Sections

• Installation of tactile paving to footpaths.
• Completion of Street Lighting works excluding TS28.
• Landscaping works (SUDS basin planting) (WC 22nd April 2024).
• Landscaping works (Seeding) (Early May 24)
• Completion of all road adjacent fencing by 1st May 2024.
• Accommodation works; Pipe through field, water troughs fencing and gates.
• Demobilisation of main compound will commence 7th May 2024- 2 Nr self-contained welfare units will be provided behind CKD units CH 1000 to provide sufficient CDM welfare facilities until road opening.
