The new Denny Eastern Access Road (DEAR) is designed to ease congestion in and around Denny Cross which will lead to improvements in air quality, road safety and will better support the local economy with improved access.
The route will also provide for more sustainable transport options in the area providing better walking and cycling opportunities.
The road will open up access for approximately 500 new homes around the Mydub Farm area to the south east of the town centre.
Falkirk Council will fund the project through ‘Prudential Borrowing’ with the Council recovering the costs of the project through planning obligations received for development sites in the area.
Project designers for DEAR are WSP one of the world’s leading professional services firms, providing strategic advisory, engineering, and design services. The main contractor building the new road is RJ McLeod.
